Firstly, I am conveying my profound gratitude to all Rotarians, Peacebuilder Presidents, District and Club leaders, to my family, Angie and Caesar, and my relatives, to IPDG Rey H. Castillo, all the Past District Governors and their spouses and DGE Danny Ona, who joined me in the recently concluded and very well-attended District Hand-over Ceremonies and Mass Induction of Peacebuilder Presidents and District Officers, held at the Cultural Center of Laguna in Sta. Cruz last Saturday, June 30, 2012.

The First District Governor from the Rotary Club of Pagsanjan originally came from Iloilo, particularly, New Lucena, Iloilo, a small sleepy town in Central Iloilo, and is in the area called “The rice granary of the Visayas”. He is the fifth child in a brood of six children of the late Engr. Cayetano M. Sunio of Iloilo and Lily Borda of Romblon, a school teacher. He spent his primary schooling in New Lucena Elementary School where he graduated Valedictorian and proceeded to take his secondary education in St. Paul’s Seminary in Makati, Rizal now Makati City, and true to form, he again graduated as Class Valedictorian.

Changes you should know about for the new Rotary year
A new Rotary year is set to begin, and with it several programs aimed at helping clubs and districts enhance their projects, share information, and increase membership. In addition, a new group of leaders will take over at the club, district, and international levels.
